If you need 99.99% uptime you probably should consider paying more and going with a different host. Freevirtualservers are excellent value for money - at least as far as their 'free hosting' is concerned (when purchasing a domain name). PHP, 3 MYSQL Databases for nothing - where else can you get that? They've got loads of charges for different things - best to pay the bills on time(!). I had some big problems with downtime with them about a year ago - but TOUCH WOOD they haven't been bad recently. Also, bandwidth can be a bit of an issue - the free package is a bit narrow at 150mb per month, so if you get a lot of traffic you will need to pay for it.



When you do have a problem they do usually get back within a day of a ticket having been raised - although I've really only done this to get VAT invoices of them.



I think I'd give them 4 stars just for the value for money of the free hosting. If you've got a lot of traffic and need constant uptime, go elsewhere and pay more.

It's worth bearing in mind we do offer paid packages with more resources and solid stability for larger websites - if you're happy with the service on our free package there's no need to compromise by going elsewhere, a few pounds a month will let you keep the excellent service you're used to while allowing you to grow.

<br/>Additionally we've worked very hard over the past two years to swap out ALL of our older hardware and replace it with newer faster servers based in the UK so speed and stability has improved dramatically - many servers now achieve 100% uptime with others very close behind.
