“After booking 1 No 12foot premium caravans and 1No...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by nyron wood on 15/08/2010

After booking 1 No 12foot premium caravans and 1No prestige caravan at a premium cost of £800 per week each we expected a decent quality of accommodation. Whilst booking these caravans we were assured that the both caravans were amongst the best quality on the site. 1 caravan was in all fairness very well presented however the other caravan was utterly appalling. The caravan had obviously not been cleaned, it was extremely dusty, the smell from the toilets was vile, and obviously had not been cleaned. No hygiene cleaning tags were installed which should have been attached to prove that some type of cleanliness had been adhered to. The whole caravan seemed very used and old, NOT WHAT WE HAD PAID FOR AT ALL. The two doors leading into both bedrooms were broken, there was a huge tear in the wall paper in one bedroom the so called welcome mat was threadbare. We also paid for a caravan with a patio, which we got, the problem with it was that the whole area moved uncontrollably when walking on, extremely unsafe and should never have been allowed to be used. We had wooden patio furniture which was falling apart and could not be used. I believe that both, Haven Holiday's and the booking agent Newman's totally ripped my family and me off with the extortionist price tag of the caravan. The complex itself has been very expensive with very little worth of the Haven tickets. We had been under the impression that the passes would entitle the family to use the facilities around the club house. NOT THE CASE, all activities such as golf, gym, archery and all other events needed additional payment. We were told that the tickets were for the club entertainment and facilities. These facilities included using all the amusement machines which were obviously not free. The carpets through out the complex were very dirty and obviously had their day. In all the bars and club areas all the surfaces were sticky and dirty. I would never use Haven Holidays in future; the whole holiday has left a bitter taste in our mouths and left us with a lot less money in our wallets. Newman Holiday Homes and Haven Holidays should be ashamed at the poor conditions they sell, completely ripping off hard working people who save all year round, only to be robbed by pirates such as Newman's and Haven's
