I am quite disheartened to read all the negative reviews of the Open University, to anyone looking to study with the OU it is daunting - a pile of textbooks arrive at your door and it's all go from there. The course without a doubt is what you make of it. You have to make regular contibutions on the TGF's (tutor group forums) to engage with the other students and get in contact with your tutors - they really do care and want you to get the most out of the course. You do have to work hard and use your head, it's not handed to you on a plate and there isn't anyone to hold your hand. I am now on my second 30 point course studying for a degree in Business Studies and because I work full time I think the OU is a great option for anyone wanting to develop themselves and their career. Give it a try - you pay per course so you will get something out of it even if you just do a taster course! (I did B120 and now B121)
