We visited The Rail Bridge Bistro, South Queensferry earlier tonight with our two young sons.
My wife and I both chose the Caesar Salad (mine with chicken, my wife without) as a main course, we expected it to be a main course portion, which it clearly wasn't. We queried this, thinking that perhaps a mistake had been made and a starter portion provided in error. To give them their due, they subsequently deducted the cost of my wife's wine and my cola from the bill.
The kids fish & chips was good value, but the kids pasta was overpriced and my eldest son hardly touched it. As to the taste - well, I can't really complain about the taste of my Caesar - it was decent enough, just lacking in quantity. My wife's ended up simply being some lettuce leaves with five or so croutons, almost no cheese and she was distinctly unimpressed.
The overall experience of dining at The Rail Ridge Bistro in South Queensferry wasn't a disaster by any means but I couldn't honestly recommend it based on tonight's experience. My personal impression was that it is somewhat over-priced and one might be better off looking elsewhere.
