I'd recommend for a friend if they only wanted a car for a few hours every now and then. If they didn't need one, it probably would not be worth it.



Streetcar is a good idea but they keep putting the costs up. Beware other charges too. Even if you have fully comprehensive insurance you still have to pay a repair charge AND an off road fee PER DAY, if there is damage to the car.



As others have pointed out, there are hire downtimes when damage may be caused (eg vandalism) but the previous hirer may sometimes get the blame.



As I said, good for regular use for a few hours otherwise you are probably better off with a standard hire car.
