On a visit to Italy bought the GC5000 and brought it as overweight baggage by air to Pakistan. Worked fine and made some yummy gelato till the 'dasher' or paddle broke. The dasher design is a bit fragile and some rough edges and it simly fatigued and broke into 2 pieces. My only complaint is I cannot find (even on the interent) where to buy a spare dasher. Obviously no repair shop in Pakistan but cannot find the nearest. There is something in Australia but that far away. A company as big a Simac De'Longhi should have an easy guide to parts places. The instruction book does not even mention the manufacturer's name and I discovered it by lots of surfing.
However, its a great machine and I would use it again once I find a new dasher.
