I have been to the Angel Inn, Larling numerous times over the years and still enjoy every visit. The pub I would describe as traditional with a relaxed atmosphere. It generally has a pretty quiet atmosphere with the pub being split into three main sections. One section, where most of the locals have a swift few pints, another section where many people have a casual meal by the fire!! And the last section where it is laid out in restaurant style, table cloths etc. The sections are nicely sectioned off which gives a certain degree of privacy from the other areas.
The food I would describe as very good. The meat is always of a high standard and the quantity of food you get for the money is excellent. I have never left feeling hungry or disappointed to date. The food always tastes fresh and has always been prepared well. Over the years I have had many dishes, steak, burgers, Cod mornay, Cod and chips, mixed grill- all are worth recommending! The starters are also good- I would definately recommend the mushrooms and bacon in the cream sauce for starters- it is a heavy starter though! Must say I am looking forward to the prawn starter with sweet chilli sauce.
Overall Its a good traditional pub with some good quality, well cooked food. Its not too complicated, its pub food!! I believe you get the most for your money here!
