Apple iPad Review

Just to qualify, I am not the regular Apple fanboi. I only have one Apple device, an iPod Classic and am a Windows user.



I picked up the 32gb wifi version.



I love my iPad! I have heard a lot of people try to put the iPad down by saying that it is just a big iPod touch. So what's the problem with that. The idea of the iPad is to deliver the content on a large screen that you can still hold in you hand.... See more



To the iPad itself. It's a very well built piece of kit that feels solid to hold. The screen is very crisp and clear. this really is a consumption device rather than creation, but the keyboard is good enough to type emails or put together notes ( I'm typing this on the iPad).



One feature that is amazing is the battery life. Easily getting 10 hours + out the the iPad.



Essential apps are Dropbox, Pages, Keynote, Evernote and Wordpress on the productivity side. The best and most essential for me is Air Video. I have a media server and Air Video means that that you can stream video from your PC and it converts it on the fly. This means that you don't have to convert the video, import into iTunes, sync to the iPad and take up space!



If you have a recent iPod Touch or an iPhone that will upgrade to the new V4.0 operating system, then the iPad is a luxury item only. But the extra real estate on the screen really iproves the experience of browsing the web and watching movies.



But the simple fact is that everyone who has seen it has wanted to play with it, and without any instruction has been able to pick it up and use it.



While I still need my desktop and laptop for work, for play both of them and my HTC Hero have already been relegated, as the iPad is with me all the time.



Would I recommend the iPad? In a heartbeat.
