General Comments
My Samsung 3500 mobile phone developed a typical problem with earpiece. Samsung wants minimum $75.00 just to look at it only 3 months out of warranty.
Since i have an electronics background i decided to tear it apart and repair it myself. I removed the flip piece looking for broken wires none found. After putting it back together i decided to see if i could remove piece holding speaker in. After careful prying i was able to loosen the glue and remove cover, inside is a quarter size speaker. Hooked up ohm meter and tested phone, phone functioned properly with the exception of the speaker. This is at best a 50 cent part and evidently poor quality control from manufacturer of speaker. This part is easily replaced, the problem is finding a speaker. Evidently samsung does not sell parts for their phones. Even their service centers can't get the parts, they have to send the phone back to samsung for repair.
As i stated earlier $75.00 minimum just for them to look at it. If i have any luck finding replacement speaker or compatible i will repost.
This is a simple repair and if you have a soldering iron you can repair this yourself.
