“After a disasterous experience in one of Edinburgh's...”

After a disasterous experience in one of Edinburgh's supposedly high quality bridal stores and with only two months to go before my wedding, I called Caroline Castigliano's Edinburgh boutique in a dreadful state. At this point I was absolutely desperate and needing something to be fully fitted and made to measure because I'm an awkward shape at the best of times. Altering an off-the-shelf dress had already proved to be a complete waste of time. Given the timescale I wasn't hopefuly but they gave me an appointment for the next day and told not to worry, so immediately I felt reassured.

The staff were amazing and understood entirely that its not just a dress the bride is buying, its a once in a lifetime experience consisting of a full package where she's made to feel like royalty. Although I knew I'd have to pay extra for the short notice and full fitting service, it was totally worth it. The attention to detail, professional approach and personal customer service left me feeling I was the only bride in the world. It was completely different to the experience I'd had previously where I was shoved in the back of a store-room, my dress arrived four sizes too big and was unalterable and the bridesmaids' dresses had been forgotten completely.

The final result was wonderful and I know I did the right thing in the end. Everyone still tells me my dress was perfect for me. My only regret is that I won't be getting married again and can't have the whole CC experience again, although I would love to have a renewal of vows in the future and will definately go back to CC for the dress.

I never got around to showing the staff at the Edinburgh shop any photos which is a shame and I'm sorry about that. It was mainly because the individual stores don't have e-mail addresses although I have now sent them to the head office for passing on.

May I take this opportunity to finally thanking the Edinburgh staff formally for making my day in such a professional, fun and understanding way. I think the manager's name was Lucia and if she's still there, thanks to her too.

Shelagh xx
