Mr. Underhill's is a firm favourite of ours and deserves its high reputation and Michelin star. Although the cost is between £50 - £55 per head it is well worth the money and considering what you get, the quality of the food and cooking, is good value. You get 7 courses and coffee for your money. The location by the weir is idealic and the outside garden is the ideal place for your summer pre dinner drink. The menu is set, but you are phoned up the day before to find out if there is anything you do not like. The wine list is extensive and the house wines are good value. If you ask Judy for recommendations she does not push the most expensive bottles. Alternatively you can buy by the glass. The service is very effiecient but not over fussy. The restaurant is small, about 26 covers so you have to book and book well in advance for weekends. It well deserves its national reputation and is a dining experience not to be missed.
