Never again! Calgel nails when first applied looked good if a little thick, then had them infilled and done in french manicure, 2 nails peeled off in week one, then my finger tips/nails felt sore and tender, couldn't get in at the saloon so soaked them off in the bath and with acetone.....to reveal oh so sore nail beds with horrible fungus infection, now I have had to cut my nails really close and apply anti fungal cream, my little pinky nail had split from cutile to tip and hurts, the rest have all split length ways and are very ugly and I'm guessing will take months to restore and heal. If you're thinking of having calgel..DON'T!

i would say this was down to your nail technicians bad preperation of the nail, before the gel overlay goes on the natural nails should be wiped clean of any oils, moisture and definatly any bacteria so no infection should occur. i would find a new salon.

Hi I totally agree with nails to love if nail technician prep is rubbish then you would have a problem, calgel is really good and natural product so no infection or sore nail should happen, for sure nail technician fault, i would go and claim insurance hunny

I found this review very helpful because... I have used Calgel for a year now, it's so addictive as your nails look so amazing and grow really fast. However I'm horrified to discover that where my nails used to grow up to the end of my finger and be really large nails, (I always got compliments) they seem to be coming away from the nail bed and they look as if they have fungal infection, however the doctor tells me there is no infection. They are aching and what a mess when I take the Gel off, so glad to hear it's not just me!!
