Be aware of the promised 24 to 48 hour time scale from FLM loans! I submitted my loan application electronically at 2pm on Tuesday 4 May using the FLM website. Late that afternoon I phoned to make sure the forms had been received, the form was checked, I was told it was in order and was told that it would be passed on to the Case Manager. When I had heard nothing within the 24 hours I phoned again and spoke to another assistant, he again told me he would print the form off and pass it on. The next day I phoned again and spoke to another assistant who said she could nothing because the application was in a quee; I phoned again later that day and this time the assistant said she would make sure the form was passed on! On the Friday morning I received a text confirming my application had been received (2 days after it was sent in) and my application would be dealt with in 48 hours. As my guarantor was going away the next Monday I phoned again and spoke to a very helpful assistant, I explained my problem and she immediantly emailed my case worker. From then on the service I received from my case worker was first class and by Friday afternoon the loan had been approved; all thanks to Lisa Welchman my caseworker. I really think FLM should not make promises it can not keep or provide a better phone service.
