We have had two dedicated servers with CWCS over the past few of years. The first became unreliable after a year or so. The second has been excellent and we have had no down time worth mentioning for over a year. They gave us plenty of time to migrate all of our clients domains from the old server to the new one which was helpful and Plesk makes this task relatively easy, especially since many of our clients have MySQL DB's, unique IP's and SSL Certificates which would be a real chore to migrate without Plesk. In our opinion Plesk is one of the best Control Panels available. Luckily, we also look after all out clients domain names via our Easynet account so we could migrate clients in small batches and switch their DNS pointers quickly (temporarily lowering the TTL's to speed up the propagation of the update) making the transfer almost seamless for them. The support staff are a mixed bunch (as you would find anywhere) with some having very poor customer relationship and communication skill, and others able to communicate well and being reasonably helpful. I have worked for a major computer company for 32 years and would say I have a reasonably good knowledge of a broad range of IT subjects, but I have found that some of their technicians give me the impression that they begrudge helping you which is a shame.



Also, beware of their marketing tricks... such as

"FREE hardware upgrade every 12 months to keep your server up to date" which is a joke. When we asked for an upgrade after the first year, they said what do you want. I replied "what does FREE hardware upgrade" mean. They couldn't tell me and just said "well it depends, what do you want?" I said okay, how about a new server ;0) They said no, it doesn't mean that. I said okay, what does it mean. They said, well how about another stick of memory! So don't let this rather vague promise set your hopes too high.



Having said all this, I still think that on dedicated servers they THE best of the bunch for the price and as long as you take the marketing promises with pinch of salt and you are good at looking after your own server, you will be perfectly happy with their services.
