I've had this camera for almost two months after a long overdue upgrade. I actually owned the EOS400D, but prefered the handling on Nikons after trying a few out.
It is a great camera coupled with the 18 - 200 VR lens and iso performance is as good as any camera at this price range.
I think the auto white balance often gets it wrong on this camera but it is easy to go manual and set it yourself.

White balance in Auto is a bit of a gamble at times - with any camera! This camera has the usual line up of White balance settings (Daylight, Cloud, Shade, Tngsten Fluoresecent...) my favourite one is the K (Kelvin). Use the Live view to do an initial check. If it is daylight - set it to 5000 or 5250 and go to live view. While your finger is on the WB button scroll the front roller until the colour looks right to you and you should be set as long as the light doesn't change. Simples!
