I have had my Peugeot 206 GXL since new, this is my second one as i was pleased
With my first 206 previously.I had problems with in a few weeks with lots of
Jerking and cutting out, but then being under warranty the main dealer was helpful, but unsure of the problem. well it seemed to sort it self out after a few weeks i think now this has been a common problem and i think the dealer
Was well aware of a possible 206 problem.
I would not recommend 20,000 mile or 2 year service intervals,i found this caused break issues and early disc brake replacement.
I had a head gasket to go at 53000 and cost me closed to £600 another fault also with some 206.Also watch the front seat handles, they sometime
pop off only really held on with a screw.and on the drivers side it seems to get caught up with the safety belt when trying to put on,or take off.
On the positive side its a nice car to drive mind now done 68,000, paint work still looks very good, petrol version and does around 400 miles on a full tank, not bad.The interior is good with a good level of equipment and a very good radio and CD player. A C is also very good and in my model climate control model i have had no problems here but use it all year round i would advise.I do also feel for a small hatchback the performance level for a 1.4 engine is good no trouble cruising on the motorway at a steady 70/80.
