Diet plans are good, not because they tell you how to eat healthy, but because they play to our behavioural games.
I like Slimming World because it appeals to my tendency (and need) to ignore portion control. You only need to measure certain kinds of foods (dairy, breads) and 'count' fatty foods (syns). Other foods such as fruits, veg, pasta, lean meats - you can have all you want. I find the diet easier than others because of that. I don't feel deprived. I like the meetings for reminding me why I am on the diet, but I'm not a big fan of clapping when someone loses weight. £5 per week, less if you pay ahead. Worth it I think. Slow steady weight loss. Just have to stick to it.
