I only passed my test a couple of months ago after riding a 125 for a year and was looking at a CBR 600F, but was let down on a sale so ended up buying a Yamaha Thundercat and am over the freakin moon! It is a great 1st big bike and has a massive amount of poke when I learned how to ride it and a smooth tourer when the revs are down. Below 4k revs it feels slow, but off the lights up to about 110mph it's a rocket when revved as it should and would beat many of the so called 'proper sports bikes' out there. Great grip cornering at pace and although feels heavy when riding slow, is very agile at speed. The only bad bits (and I am only picking)are the ... Actually I was trying to think of some and can't! Buy this beautiful beast. It's looks are aging well and is more than fast enough to keep you going until you want something bigger.
