I have made 2 claims with Churchill under my home insurance. The first time was after a burst pipe in one of the bedrooms came through the ceiling the ceiling came down onto the bolier and it stopped working. They were so obstructive i paid for all the damage myself and didnt bother carrying on with the claim. The second claim was for my freezer in the garage stopped working in the cold weather and all the contents had to be thrown away this claim is for less than 300.00 its so far 6 weeks, every time i call they ask me the same questions. I would be seriously worried if i had to make a more serious claim, such as a fire i would probably end up homeless. As of today i am referring my complaint to the FOS you can download the relevant form on line.
