The only present reviews I've found so far are those by Steve Howard, he puts forward the value for money of a Yamaha. It must be said that this is not an amateur sax. You're paying for the Selmer make, and having had a Professional Yamaha that sounded like a tin can, this Ref54 is something else.
They're all different to a certain degree, they can vary slightly from one to another depending on how well they are set up.
Tone is outstanding, mechanics unbeatable, and it had a professional feel to it, whereas my previous yamaha felt like a toy in my hands.
If I had known that a simple pro set up could have change so much I wouldn't have hesitated so much in the beginning.
Although 3800' or £ may seem a lot in the beginning its well worth the initial investment if your thinking of taking this instrument up seriously.
