I finished my LL journey over a yea ago now and as i have not put on a single pound since then, i felt i should write about it! My story starts with being over 20 stone at the age of 22. Not nice. I felt that this was the way i was meant to be and that was that. Oh was i wrong (thankfully!) I was recommended to the diet by a friend of my fathers who claimed the results were outstanding and fast. Hesitantly i went to my first meeting and got the doctors form to bring back if i decided to go ahead with it. I can only say that i am SO glad i did go back! I am an all-or-nothing sort of person and for me, not eating anything that didnt come out of a LL package seemed logical! So, i commenced my diet and wow... it began! I wont lie, it was tough. it was the middle of summer and i was in scotland with the family on holiday, so the bbq was out every night, sweets, crisps, chocolate lined the fridge of the converted barn we had rented for 2 weeks. I stuck 100% to the LL program and my god was it hard (to begin with!) After week 1 i had lost 10Lbs. i was literally sweating the weight off. Week 2 brought a further 12Lbs bringing the first two weeks of eating (what i fondly named) hamster food. After the first two weeks of experiencing those dramatic results i found a drive within myself. I was absolutly dedicated to my program and the more i saw cakes, takeaways, chocolate etc, the less i wanted them. It was almost like one of those epic 'Rocky' pre-fight training videos constantly playing in my head! The time came for me to begin the introduction of food. It was what i can only imagine a baby must feels like the first time it eats food! Plain grilled chicken was on the menu and before i had even pulled it off my newly purchased 'george foreman' i was drooling like a dog in a butchers shop. I savoured every mouthful and felt utterly forfilled! Slowly but surely i added the various foods back into my diet, controlling portions and dressings/sauces etc. The same could not be said for my weight which continued to plummet. I got from (just over) 20 stone, to 14 when i started the introduction to food. I continued to lose weight at a rate of knots!

I can honestly say that one year after completing my diet, it works. I currently weigh in at 11 stone 12Lbs and look and feel like a new person. My health is top notch with regular visits to the local gym, some old friends dont even recognise me and i actually enjoy food now! i notice tastes and flavours now and appreciate what im putting into my mouth.

A few little things i feel i should tell you about are, buying new clothes! i dont own anything from my former self! I had a 44inch waist and now wear a 30inch. T-shirts are 'small' not XXL. The other thing i would mention is slight hair loss. I wasnt informed of this before my diet but it happened to me. Im not bald or anything but the top definatley thinned out! not sure what the effects may be for women but as a guy, i did get signs of the 'old man-ness!' Its still growing through one year on and im hoping to have it all back soon! I was lucky with my skin, as you can imagine 20stone to 11 is quite a jump and i was worried that i may end up with baggy skin. I am only 24 now and i have no horrible bits or parts that i have to tuck into my trousers! I would reccomend doing this diet asap so that you can hopefully have the same fortune i did! All this leaves me to say is good luck, stick to and it will work!! The total time on my diet was 4 months, which to be fair at 24 was a blip in the ocean! good luck all!

Alex
