Interstate trips are usually boring. But this fall driving from Philadelphia to Maine on I-95, I couldn't wait to read the next unique tidbit from What's Great About I-95: Maine to New Jersey, a book I had purchased online. I didn't know Napoleon's brother had lived in New Jersey for two decades and entertained Daniel Webster and Henry Clay. Or how far the last Ice Age glacier had advanced. Or that Skowhegan, Maine's jail was for sale in 2008 -- listed as a multi-family dwelling! This lively book added interest to our trip and entertained the kids for miles. I only wished the book were a little longer, I was yearning to know more.
