“This microphone is excellent for recording interviews...”

This microphone is excellent for recording interviews and music performances. It is a device optimized to hendheld recorders, don't try to use it as part of stage sound system. The 'viewing' angle is adjustable in two steps, from 90 to 120 degrees. It is rather omnidirectional in terms of picking up the surround noises. That is good if you want to reflect the audio atmosphere of the site you work at. Signal level is low enough to allow live, powered concerts to be recorded without distortion, and it is noiseless enough to fairly capture silent programs too. It has actually six microphones built in, this gives brilliant stereo space. It takes a single AA battery, and it can not use the recorders' power supplied through the 3,5 jack. You can only check the battery when you turn on the mike: a red led flashes up for a moment if there is enough power. During operation it will not light. There is a small desk stand and a windscreen foam supplied. The textile covered cable is soft, flexible and strong enough. Sound quality matches or exceeds that of more expensive stage mikes. It is not enough protected against mobile phones' electromagnetic interference, so better to switch off your mobile if you want to avoid buzzes on your recordings.
