PicturesOfYou5's review of Twilight

“After reading all four of the Twilight Saga Books,...”

★★★★☆

written by PicturesOfYou5 on 07/11/2009

After reading all four of the Twilight Saga Books, which includes; New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, I was very excited to experience the first film of the four. I first heard all the news of a film coming out from friends and on YouTube watched the very first trailer. Anxious to see, I waited until the December and saw on the first day shown in cinemas.

Twilight started off very slow and stuck to book very well. I enjoyed watching the chemistry between leading actor Robert Pattinson and actress Kristen Stewart especially during their first kiss. Although the moments of pure silence and awkwardness got in the way tension and excitement started to bulid when more exciting scenes were introduced.

The Cinema was packed and that gave a great atmosphere to when Robert Pattinson playing Edward Cullen made his first entrance, as all the young girls screamed. Catherine Harwick (director) made a very anticipiating choice picking Pattinson to play the out-of-this-world, drop-dead-gorgeous, unhuman vampire figure. There was much discussion, about how he would play this part and yet by the end of the film, i suspect every girl is in love with him.

My favourite scene, the basketball match between the Cullens is when the special effects play a massive part. With Muse playing in the background, everyone is focused on what will happen next? When the rival vampires arrive, the Cullens try to do everything to save Bella from death. In one of the last scenes, Kristen Stewart cannot stop blinking and this is almost annoying for the audience to watch.

Without its flaws, Twilight is a well collected film, which sticks to the book well and has a range of great performamces from the actors all round.

I share the same view. one thing that has not being talked about is the music. The opening track and the subsequent piano number that Edward plays is awesome. Even the background score when the venom spreads through Bella's body intensifies the situation and is a delight to watch. Rest Edward's eyes and Bella's simplicity can knock down the audiance at one go.

I found this review somewhat helpful because... it gave reasons to see the movie, but has a few errors.

Thank you for your comment and i have realised you are right... i didnt comment on the music. I also think the music is great and especially in this film it really sets with the mood. Robert Pattinson's Never Think and Let Me Sign are great for this movie and Carter Burwell's Bella's Lullaby which Robert Pattinson plays sets such a great mood for the film to continue. Thanks.
