Jeff Wayne, War Of The Worlds Review

Jeff Wayne's musical version of War of the Worlds is a classic album. I first heard it one summer afternoon at a friends house and we were going through her Dad's vinyl. Instantly loved it. Bought the CD and it is always in the car and on my iPod. With a strong storyline and amazing songs with strong basslines. A stellar cast of Phil Lynott, Richard Burton, Justin Hayward, David Essex and Chris Thompson provide their vocal talents and this creates an unusual musical that has guts and real staying power. Eve of the War and Thunderchild still bring shivers down my spine when I hear them. Truely a brilliant prog rock album.
