Patricks serves ok food though dated, unimaginative and sometimes inconsistent however takes full advantage of setting high prices because of the location (Mumbles) and the clientele (Old). The interior is dated and they have tried over cramming tables into the restaurant to maximise profit leaving you feeling claustrophobic and not relaxed. There is a separate drinks area which I think is a really nice touch, shame about the let down in the restaurant. Final thought: Going to Patricks is like stepping back in time to 1973 but with 2009 prices. I can only believe that Patricks has survived because of the loyal, ageing customers and the lack of competition from other restaurants in Mumbles. Yes there are lots of them there but no one restaurant sticks out as being "that bit better". Competition leads to efficiency, innovation and a desire for better quality. This is a message to all of mumbles restaurants.
