We had been looking forward to visiting Chatsworth House for a long time as we had previously been members of the National Trust and had enjoyed visiting many stately homes.Quite simply this is not a home but would be better described as a museum.Lots of art and sculptures, but no atmosphere, all very clinical.
The ceiling paintings were very beautiful, however, none of the rooms are particularly memorable in their own right. All the rooms seem to come together and create one long museum. As we were able to find promo codes on the internet we can rate the value for money as two stars. If we had paid full price we would have been sorely disappointed with what was on offer today.
