I'm suprised to read the bad ratings on the Tefal Quickcup because mine is just perfect and I've had it for months.
The water is most definately hot enough, the product is well made and, despite one review i've read here, the plastic container isn't thin and easily breakable it's in fact rather sturdy and easily removed to fill up. As far as the noise is concerned it's not actually much different from a normal kettle so don't let that put you off.
I think people have exaggerated a little here and have jumped on the band wagon so take these reviews with a pinch of salt and go try one for yourself. If you do get a duff one (this happens with all products) then take it back and get a refund.
I would agree with the midwife that posted a comment here about avoiding using it for babies bottles though, just in case.
I got mine in a one-off sale in Argos for £28.87. I have recommended this to people and now my workplace have bought one and it too has been working perfectly despite being used regularly.
