2 years ago, I had no intention of ever getting on a bike, let alone owning one. Due to neccesity I ended up buying a little rev and go scooter from honda, on it's first service I saw a Honda VT 750 Shadow in the showroom and straight away fell in love. The one I saw was old and in the horrible orange and black paint job, even though it looked a bit of a mess, it appealed to me.
A year later I picked up my brand new, shining, metalic blue and silver, very sexy VT 750 C. When the dealer wheeled it round from the workshop, I nearly fell over! There is something about that bike that really takes my breath away!
Since then, nearly 6 months ago, the bike has covered over 6,500 miles, I ride it to work every day, add a few hundred miles almost every weekend and the occasional trip cross country, never had a single problem.
Very comfortable, easy to ride, easy to manouvre, good braking, good acceleration, responsive gears, a nightmare to keep clean!
My only 2 issues are that as I'm on a restricted license (got to keep to bikes under 33BHP for my 1st 2 years) it took several weeks for Honda to get the restrictor kit so I could finally pick the bike up(to be fair, a custom built part for this bike, but still, Honda could have dealt with this much better) and also that a fuel guage would be really usefull!
An al round brilliant bike, and more fun than I would ever have imagined
Final thought: Who cares about high milage causing depreciation when you'd never want to sell it!?
