Bad Points
Weight on the early model is advantageous and the 19inch front wheel isn't ideal for dirt riding. Rear wheel cush drive flogs out thus allowing derailment of chain which normally damages engine cases in said area.

General Comments
The TS250 commenced production in 1969. This model was known as the TS250-1. They were considerably heavy and much of the mechanicals were borrowed directly from the T500 Titan twin cylinder roadbike. The motor is basically a T500 cut in half. In 1971 Suzuki released a newer style engine and redesigned the styling much of which would stay the same through the production run up to 1976. In 1977 the reedvalve 'case induction' engines were born along the new RM styling. All TS250 models from 1971 used pointless electronic ignition but the early '69 and '70 model had points.

Ultra reliable, parts readily available, very good street manners and reasonably equipped for off road excursions. Can be modified for performance very easily. The bike itself is like the XL Honda, the DT Yamaha and the Kawasaki F11 of the era in regards to being virtually bulletproof and/or overbuilt by design.
