“I've done 3000 miles on my Carrera Subway 2 Mens, all...”

Good Points
Great value for money.
Nice disc brakes, handy in traffic.
Not too heavy so can lift up stairs at the station.
Fairly rugged on roughish ground, taking shortcuts, jumping up kerbs etc.
Not too posh so hasn't got nicked yet.

Bad Points
Pedals started crunching at about 1500 miles but just needed a strip down and regrease.
New chainset needed at 1500 miles but it's a silly double one so I had to replace the front derailleur with a triple at same time (just an extra £12).
Seat post sheared off at about 1700 miles but they replaced free of charge as was within 1 year.
Rear hub started grinding at 2500 miles and it's non-standard so that was a new wheel at £50.

General Comments
I've done 3000 miles on my Carrera Subway 2 Mens, all commuting and popping to the shops etc. I live near the beach so it gets a lot of salt and sand, which bikes generally hate, so a tough life for it. I've replaced most of the parts that wear out, like drivetrain and gear cables but it's still going well and I'm pretty happy with it.
