I have a blue Kawasaki 2003 ZZR600 and I have done 39000 miles on it without a problem. I have put a HAGON rear shock on to stiffen the rear and highly recommend people do this to theirs. I have also fitted stainless steel braided hoses all round and these improve the braking considerably, also fitted a full stainless system (downpipes aswell) and now know i will not have to worry about rot, and fitted full givi panniers and top box. I also use Bridgestone BT021 tyres front and rear and get 6k on rear and 7-8k on front, these tyres offer great all round ability for UK weather. I get it fully serviced from a Kawasaki dealer every year and just had the carbs balanced for the 1st time and still haven't had to have the shimms replaced as the engine is still tight and uses a tiny amount of oil. I have also fitted HH sintered pads front and rear and these help as well.
I recommend this bike to women and beginners aswell as experienced riders as where can you get a 100bhp bike for really cheap money, that is also bomb proof.
Just off touring Normandy (france) for a week, camping, and the bike carries me (6ft 3in, 16 stones) and tent, clothes etc and still cruises at any speed I wish to travel at.
Can't fault the old girl :~)
