General Comments
We went to Loch Fyne quite early evening so as it wasn't so busy the service was OK. The food, however, was at best average.
The smoked fish pie reminded me of corned beef hash but made with fish. I thought a pie was supposed to have a filling and a top? Not this one. The flavour was crude - all smoke, little else. My partner had the grilled halibut. He is a halibut fan but said this wasn't one of the better ones flavour wise. Both dishes came only with potato, so then you need to get extra veg or salad - so it soon adds up. Drinks aren't cheap either.
We had apple crumble for pudding but it had not been baked in the traditional way. It was served in an individual dish, with cooked apple spooned in first with crumble spooned in on top , seemingly just before serving, giving it very little character.
