“The food at the Creative Grand Sharm Resort is at best...”

★★☆☆☆

Good Points
The positives are the staff and fantastic views of the red sea if you are lucky enough to get a sea view room, and that's about it.

Bad Points
Food, drinks, room accommodation is poor.

General Comments
The food at the Creative Grand Sharm Resort is at best average and repetitive, if they serve chicken and lunch, you can guarantee to see chicken on the menu on the evening. Breakfast is abysmal, limited choice which included selection of overcooked vegetables. If you want an alcoholic drink at lunch time, you have to go to the bar to collect it yourself. Apparently the waiters aren't allowed to bring the drinks over to you. The condition of the restaurant is below standard. Old fashioned chairs with wooden seat and covered by tatty cushions. It also appeared that the single high chair was home made. The rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment, there was grime around the shower and the bath tub. The resort is not on the beach, the alleged private beach is over 1km away and certainly not suitable for a family with young children (aged 4 & 2). And its not private, its shared with at least another three/four resorts. Anything besides a soft drink at the beach cost money, even if you have chosen the all inclusive option. With a bottle of beer costing 25 Egyptian Pounds it soon become an expensive day if you intend on having a drink by the beach. The only beach that is suitable for young children is over 15 mins away in the shuttle bus. The alcoholic drinks on offer with the all inclusive option are woefully cheap imitations of international brands. For example John Walker Red Label Whiskey, Gordoons Gin etc. Out of the resort and directly opposite there are two shopping/dining/drinking areas. If you head towards the right there is a place called Il Mercato you will find a very modern complex with some nice places to eat and drink and no hassle shopping. However if you want something more challenging and want to experience a typical Egyptian shopping then turn left and head towards the market place. Sharm El Shiekh is a place that I will go back to in the future, however I will be very careful about the resort I choose. Egypt is a wonderful country with friendlier people.
