Lapland, Akaslompolo, Villa Armas Review

Good Points
Value for money,clean,virtually door to slopes ski bus service,near amenities,Quiet neighbourhood,doctor near by,pretty setting, loads of paths to go see northern lights from.friendly locals.great underfloor heating and a wicked sauna,slopes empty great for kids.

Bad Points
ski bus sometimes didn't turn up and then when it did it was chock full so we all got cold toes, too far to walk to ski lifts.behaviour of other english tourists ,ice balls hurled at tiny kids from drunk english teenagers bit of a let down.Wine very expensive ,so take a bottle or two.

General Comments
Went to Akaslompolo to Villa Armas. Brill holiday great food and accomodation shame about the rest of the british crowd though.puts us in a bad light.Didnt do the santa stuff just wanted the kids to learn to ski without being ploughed into.beats the alps by miles.kids picked up some finnish and learnt a little local culture infact we all cried when we came home.The aurora blew us all away and its given me the urge to live differently.The cold dry climate also seemed to relieve my sons excema .
