Good Points
Obviously a lot of money spent on the production, amazing set and costumes, generally very talented cast.
Bad Points
Story not aimed at children, not believable, dances messy, not enough singing (Only 3/4 songs in the whole show), Smee not that great, Didn't really feel 'pantomimey', expensive, Think Bonny Langford was not singing live!
General Comments
Peter Pan at Richmond Theatre was OK, but for the money i was expecting a lot more, i have seen far better shows in sub £10 theatres. The show wasn't very aimed at children, Captain Hook often went off on long monologues, losing my attention... so i can be sure the kids weren't listening either! No character to interact with the kids until half way through act 2.
It felt like it was trying to hover half way between being a Christmas show and a Pantomime... unfortunately doing neither very well. The story of Peter Pan wasn't told very well, and the show was far too serious to be a pantomime... very little in the way of audience interaction.
Also... who lit it?! A purple camouflage ship in the daytime... OK! Really quiet too, Bonny Langford got people to clap along, when you did there was no chance of hearing the music/singing.
I'd say an average pantomime, at an expensive price!
