General Comments
I ordered a tankini set online from Marks and Spencer and it was delivered the next day - great. I was going on holiday the following week so didn't feel I had much time and usually the local stores don't have all stock.



The bottoms fit but I could not get the top over my shoulders despite it being the same size as my bra (a size that I had previously had confirmed at a bra fitting at the Marks and Spencer Store).



When trying to get it over my shoulders it left some faint white lines - not something I had any control over.



As I could not get it on I decided to return it. I was going to send it via the postal service but my daughter asked me to go with her on the Saturday (as we left for holiday on the Monday) to the White Rose Centre, Leeds and I decided to return my Marks and Spencer goods to the store (to save them postage). I was astonished when I was told that I could not return the top due to the marks - a supervisor when called confirmed as it was marked I could not return it: it seemed to me by her attitude she did not believe I had not worn it . I explained I had simply attempted to get it on and asked if they check every item tried on in store and make people buy unsuitable goods, which I felt was what they were attempting to do to me. I showed her my order (which was dated two days previous) and explained that I would have had to have been very clever to have had chance to wear it in such a short time. I have been a customer (and card holder) of theirs for many years and have never tried to buy online so have not had to return anything previously - I was very upset and felt I was being treated like a criminal. I felt as though I was being looked down on, and felt the store staff were succeeding in embarrassing me in front of other customers. I got the name of the staff concerned and left the store.



I subsequently returned the goods via post and received a full refund. I complained to Marks and Spencer and got an email saying the matter had been passed to the store management for them to respond. That was on 21 October, I have heard nothing since.
