Good Points
Reasonable grind fineness control, cheap
Bad Points
Broke after 2 years, messy, feed hopper awkward.
General Comments
The Krups GVX231 Grinder looks good value on the shelf but don't be fooled. I guess it's another case of you get what you pay for. It failed after two years. It is messy: ground coffee flies everywhere when emptying the hopper due to static electricity generated by the (unnecessarily?) fast grinding speed; hopper lid is easy to drop into the hopper when emptying resulting in more mess.
If the need is to grind just enough coffee for a brew (e.g. if you like to vary your coffee flavours as I do), the feed hopper is often reluctant to empty and one needs to give the machine several taps / shakes to get the last beans through. Spend a bit more and get one that's better designed for the job and more robust - it will pay in the long run!
