“Very grand building but rooms leave a lot to be...”

Good Points
Cabaret was ok

Bad Points
Rooms were uncomfortable. Old ill fitting windows, very dirty. Some rooms didn't have a window. No bedside tables in some rooms. Very cramped shower space. Dirty towels provided. New ones brought late at night when we were in bed! Boiler or the like running all night long made sleep almost impossible in one room we used. Food very poor difficulty finding a table to dine at.

General Comments
Very grand building but rooms leave a lot to be desired. Food of a very poor standard. Two lifts each accommodating 8 people max for the whole of floors 1-5. Level 6 had to be reached by another small lift which was situated around the corner and through two or three fire doors. This is no mean feat when dealing with luggage. Insufficient seating in the dining room for the amount of guests. The only redeeming feature was the position of the dining room, it did have a panoramic view of the sea and beach. Also not enough room to accommodate all the guests wishing to watch the cabaret, although there is a larger room on the floor above which could have been used. The toilet facilities in the main areas were very limited, facilities for ladies was abysmal, In fact on my last night there I went to the ladies to find the outer door locked! I asked at reception and was told there was another out through that brown door at the end. This took me almost out side from a side entrance, there were only two toilets there. I was glad to come home and enjoy some decent food and a comfortable bed.
Needless to say I will not be recommending the Grand to anyone!!
