Bad Points
After about 3 years, I began to experience 'banding' and smearing, which sometimes went away after cleaning. Some days ago, it completely died on me. The lamp does not come on and after having looked at it, I guess that it would cost more to replace a lamp (if that's the problem) than to buy a new one. No one stocks that model any more, so H-P, here I come.
General Comments
The Epson CX3200 is easy to use. I could control the scanner from the PC, which I did find helpful. Photos were good but did take a while.
The top flap is removable which is superb when copying large objects.
It's quite a bulky affair but with nice clean lines. With that size I should have thought that the paper tray is fully enclosed inside but for some reason or another, nearly all manufacturers choose to tack the in-tray at the back or front and which collects dust.
