Good Points
From the beginning a very encouraging instrument to play. Plays very light but still has a beautifull warm sound. As a new or even more advandced player it will almost coach you through your first difficult parts and solo's. This instrument gives you tremendous fun and drives you too study and play more. Because you will sound great.

Bad Points
You will not have many trill keys and probably mostly will miss the c-trill, no low A but who cares. You hardly ever play that one whilst still "growing up".

General Comments
Personally I think the Buffet BC4012 Student it is the perfect oboe for starters and intermediate players. It gives you a nice feeling and great progression in your play. However, after a while you will be going to need (want) a more complete instrument where all the trills and options are available. Only when you get to that point it will be hard to chose, believe me, I've been there. But not if it hadn't been for my first bc4012.
