General Comments
My advice is: don't even go there! We called a designer out (an evening appointment), for a start he was half an hour late. He said he would take measurements and he would go away and do the estimate and design as it was getting late. We said it was OK. Anyway on leaving he promised to get back about the quote.
Two weeks on and still no quote from them so I decided to chase up. They said they'll get in touch with the designer to find out why. Few days later and still no quote! I contacted them again and they apologized and said the same thing that they'll get in touch with the designer. I took the name of the regional manager down. Few days later and finally I get a call from the designer himself and said he'd been doing some work on it, and would cost £23,000, and that that's above our budget! I got annoyed and when I asked him for a detailed written quote as initially agreed. I reminded him of what was agreed.
When I called him as his number appeared when he called me, I got his voice message, so I left him a message to contact me back saying that I've assumed that the line went dead! Surely if that was the case he would've called me back?
