donjoe14's review of Vauxhall Astravan 1.7 CDTi Club

“This is the third Astra van I have had since 1976. ”

Good Points
Have been happy with everything apart from two points, one serious and one just niggling.

Bad Points
Can't get used to the indicators.
Serious point is the Roof Rack anchor points.
They are too close together, the rear anchor point is halfway down the roof. When carrying long lengths, the back end of the load is swinging. I have written to Vauxhall via Geoff Bray ( suppliers) but no answer as yet.

General Comments
This is the third Astra van I have had since 1976.

All served me well and did over 250,000.

I am disappointed with roof rack anchor points on this model.

I think it is a mistake on behalf of Vauxhall.

I have noticed however that some new ones have rails

on the roof, can,t understand why mine has not.

Totally agree with your point about the roofrack anchor points! absolutely stupid, we bought our van for window cleaning and its a nightmare to carry ladders with the bars so close together
