General Comments
I got the Kodak EasyShare Z1275 camera for Christmas 2007. Nice versatile little digital camera.

You can choose 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios with the 4:3 topping out at 12 Mega pixels and the 16:9 topping out at 9 Mega pixels. Basically, the 16:9 just crops off what the 4:3 would have captured, saving you the effort of cropping it in photo editing software.

It'll will also shoot a short movie clip if you want and has a built in microphone if you want to narrate while "filming". The 5x optical zoom seems adequate and the 3-way "shutter" timer is useful.

You can also use manual functions such as F-stop, shutter speed, and ISO for simulating film type. It uses SD memory cards. There are so many more features that are too long to list here.

The fact that it came with only 2 AA batteries instead of a rechargeable unit is a negative and a positive at the same time.

The negative is, you really need to get the Kodak EasyShare Battery Charger Kit #8039455. The kit includes a K4500 rapid charger, 2 rechargeable Ni-MH battery packs, and a camera bag that holds it all.

The positive is, if your rechargeable batteries are dead and you haven't the time to recharge them, you can just throw in 2 AA batteries and keep on shooting.

I haven't tried the included software, because I never use the software that comes with a digital camera. I use either Irfanview (free) or Photoshop (not free) for my editing.

Overall, the Kodak Z1275 is a good all around camera for the casual photographer.
