millini's review of Calella, Hotel Osiris

“1. Lifts are inadequate, you will need to be very fit...”

Good Points
Staff worked very hard, especially in the restaurant.

Bad Points
There are too many to list but here goes

1. Lifts are inadequate and very slow.
2. Food is very bland and repetitive, the snack bar is reheated leftovers from restaurant.
3. The noise is unbelievable, the corridoors echo and we have had a better nights sleep if we had gone to sleep in a night club.
4. Kids are a major problem, even in term time they are still present.
5. The rooms are extremely basic, however they maids keep them clean.
6. Only two drinks are allowed to be taken from the bar at a time, these are usually in plastic beakers.
7. Kids as well as adults run up and down the corridors both in the afternoon and into the early hours of the morning.
8. On arrival reception was extremely slow and the rooms were not ready (even at 1.30pm)
9. If you are a non smoker this is not the hotel for you. As soon as you hit the reception & going into the eating area there are people smoking.
10. There is an adult bar which is poorly ventilated and drinks cannot be taken from this area.

General Comments
1. Lifts are inadequate, you will need to be very fit as you will be using the stairs a lot...this will be learn't on the first day. There are only 3 lifts which six people can squeeze into.

2. Food, please leave your taste buds at home, having a good meal here is taking your life into your own hands and cannot be assured.

3. The noise is unbearable bring your earplugs as this is an essential piece of equipment.

4. This is not a quiet hotel, do not go here if you don't have kids.

5. The rooms are clean but look like something out of the fifties - holocaust. The last time we saw bedspreads like this was on our grannies beds in the 70s.

6. Only two drinks at any one time...good if you like to get to know the barmen.

7. Kids - adults run riot all times of day, doors bang and kids stomp down the corridors screaming.

I think you were a bit hard on the hotel as you paid very little for the holiday and you only get what you pay for. The holiday is what you make of it, if you had done research on the hotel before you went you would see that it catered for children of all ages. When me and my family went on this holiday we found there was no smoking in the eating areas there was a designated smoking area near reception and out side of the dinning room we went at the hight of the season and managed to get a lift most of the time.

I don't see why everyone has to be so moany, if you are going to book a cheap holiday in a three star hotel why on earth are you expecting five star service!!!!! Maybe you should book yourself a more expensive holiday next time.
