Good Points
1. The voice transmission and reception are very clear-- much like a land phone.
2. The ring tones and alert sounds are audible from the next room, even when the phone is buried in a drawer or a purse. This is a significant improvement over the T300, on which the ringtones, especially the polyphonic ones, were too soft, even with the volume at the highest setting.
3. The shortcuts are customizable to my own preferences so that I can access the menus that I want to access quickly (instead of digging thru several submenus or having to memorize the shortcuts that are pre-structured and unchangeable on the Nokia phones). This is a very important feature. Kudos to Sony Ericsson!
4. The "options" button is helpful in providing further information about a feature.
5. The power button being separate is helpful, unlike the T300 which used the "NO" button multi-purposefully to end calls, go back to previous screen, terminate internet connection, and power off the phone.
6. The built-in camera, mirror plug and camera button on the side of the phone make picture-taking fast and convenient.
7. The color screen is crisp and vibrant.
8. The creative design (fonts, colors, placement of icons) and functional structuring of menus and submenus are simply user-friendly and easy to follow.
9. Website is very informative. Global support on website is not only helpful, but prompt in responding to questions.

Bad Points
1. When using the headset, the voice transmission gets very fuzzy and muffled. People tell me they can't hear me very well when I use the headset. But I can hear them just fine.
2. No loudspeaker. This would have been a nice added feature for hands-free purposes, since the headset doesn't transmit my voice very well.
3. PHONE LOCK: The only lock that's activated while the phone is on is the keypad lock-- but not the phone lock. I have to turn off the phone in order to activate PHONE LOCK to where it will ask me for the code. I wish I could lock the phone without turning it off so that if I left it somewhere accidentally, no one else could use it without entering the PHONE LOCK CODE. This feature is available in Motorola and LG phones. This is another very important feature I wish Sony Ericsson phones had.

General Comments
Different reviews of the Sony Ericsson T610 mobile phone have been extremely helpful. I wanted to upgrade from the T300, but I actually initially bought the Nokia 6610 before buying the SE T610. And now, having compared them against each other feature by feature, there is absolutely no comparison! Sony Ericsson T610 wins! I list here some of the things that impressed me about the SE T610, and others that disappointed me about this phone.

I don't have one of these phones, but I have a great suggestion to your phone locking problem. If you can create 'screensavers', create it saying 'Insert SIM Card'. If you cannot do this get someone to create one for you on the latest non-colour Nokias (Works a treat on the 5210, 3410). This is an idea if you have to leave it on the table, people will pick up your phone and think there is no SIM Card in it!
