Good Points
The picture and sound quality are outstanding. The machine is very heavy and sturdy, and it is one of the quietest on the market. This Sony has dual lasers. You will not see a skip or pause with any DVD, and the player itself looks great.

Bad Points
The only thing that this machine does not have is DTS decoding. But as long as you have a receiver with DTS decoding capability, you can play DTS movies with no problem.

General Comments
The Sony 7700 is the machine in which all others are judged right now. I have had mine for about a year now and have not had a single problem with it. I have never seen a skip or pause, even on the DVD's that are notorious for doing so. If you want a premium DVD player at a good price, look no further.
