Good Points
Good record quality. Supports Video Plus programming. Useful features for dubbing to DVD. Keeps a library of recorded DVDs

Bad Points
No built in digital decoder. Occasionally crashes. Died after 3 years

General Comments
The DR-MH30 has loads of features so it can do all the standard stuff that an HDD recorder can do, plus a lot more. I wish now that it had a digital decoder, but it can be set to synchronize recordings with an external decoder. I've generally had no problems with it, except that the software crashes if you pause live TV and then attempt to store the buffered video as a recording when it's about to start another recording.Unfortunately they use a Maxtor HDD, which died on mine after 3 years. That's the only reason I can't give a much higher rating.
