Good Points
Huge area to ski - area pass permitting.
Great location - 100 m to slopes then short ski to the nearest lift.
Great conditions, snow snow and snow with no avalanche risks reported.

Bad Points
Busy, a few bottle necks in meribel centre at lunch and end of day.

General Comments
I organised a party of 4 to go Le Trois Vallee in Meribel through Going Places and found that whole arrangement to be great. A complete service from the holiday folk from beginning to end! We stayed at Chalet L'arclusaz, which sleeps 15 and the 2 chalet hosts. Our guys were fab. They were knowledgable skiers themselves (well a skier and a boarder) who cooked good food and kept guests staying in entertained throughout.

The local ski area is Le trois vallee, consisting of Meribel (in the middle), Courchavel, and Val Thoren. Val Thoren is the least enjoyable of the 3 in my opinion as many of the runs are in wide open but rather sterile surroundings. Very little scenery and often a feeling of skiing from point to point just to get back into meribel! Meribel is brilliant, a good offering of beginner through to challenging piste with some great scenery and some quality places to stop for food and drink. Courchavel is quite literally loaded with people, very popular with the younger generation of skiers and even the occasional pro, no less did I end up having a beer with one, a friend of the chalet host when we skied one afternoon together!!

Good for families and same age groups alike, this place has almost everything. The price is reasonable if you look hard enough for the right place and the right set up. Half board and ski pass for about £700 including all travel seemed great to me. only one minor bad point is that in meribel centre it can get very very busy at lunch and closing time as everything seems to converge on the centre.
