Looks Good - Short Life
Three years in and it has died. Mended once - but 2 weeks later failed again. Phoned some people who said they won't touch Hotpoint because things are always failing on them! Great!

Poor Quality Compared With Previous Fridge Freezer
about 4 years old I guess, my ff200lp has been making pools of water on the floor for some time - intermittently. My daughter's did the same at a lesser age and then packed up. I can't remember the make of our previous model but it went on until the case rusted.
I don't know what to buy next, but it surely won't be a Hotpoint and I rated them highly previously - from reputation, not experience.

Fridge Freezer Good, Hotpoint Service Appalling
I was very happy with the fridge freezer when it was working but 2 years on the compressor packed up. The service I got from Hotpoint is appalling and completely unacceptable. For this reason I would recommend you do NOT buy Hotpoint.
I have been left without a fridge in the current heat wave for 12 days up to now, have had 2 visits from an engineer, had parts fitted, and it still doesn't work. The worst, most frustrating thing is, they couldn't care less. The service centre is run by a computer, the staff are not able to react to an emergency or address your particular concerns, or communicate with the engineers directly. They just give you a date that comes out of the computer and that's it. My last visit resulted in the engineer doing something that tripped my fuses so that no appliances would work. I phoned the service centre as soon as I realised, approx 10minutes after the engineer had left, and asked them to call him back. All they did was give me another appointment in 6 days time. I said this was unacceptable, surely they could phone him. They just repeated he is booked up until next Monday. They did not seem to grasp or care about what had just happened. Unbelievable.

Great Product And Delivery But Oh The Poor Office Support
An emergency fridge/freezer replacement was necessitated when the existing one died suddenly. After frantic evaluations of possible replacements of the right size, I discovered that most high street shops had very long delivery times. I found that Pixmania sold my chosen Hotpoint FF200LP replacement and telephoned to check on availability and delivery. I was informed that it was available and could be delivered in about 3 or 4 days. The telephone assistant then said that I could order over the phone and that she would help. Big mistake
After about 15 minutes, she still hadn't managed to complete the procedure and went away to get help. I placed order on line and was delighted to get an email that evening saying the unit would be delivered the next day. The need to reverse the door opening resulted in another phone call where I was passed around like a parcel from dept to dept and the total phone bill for both calls was about £7. The expensive service included a call on the chosen day that never occurred. Last gripe was the poor manual which did not show the working of the control switches and lights. However I did manage to download this information online.
An excellent service let down by incompetence and poor attention to essential customer needs.

Prior To This Hotpoint We Had A Zanussi Which Last
Prior to this Hotpoint we had a Zanussi which lasted over fifteen years and we were delighted with it. Then unfortunately we needed to replace it and we purchased the Hotpoint. It looks very pretty and it freezes very well. The holiday feature is a good innovation.
Now we come to the design. WHAT A LET DOWN. The shelves are so so difficult to place into the fridge and the draws are so designed that you can hardly get anything into them. My wife has already dropped the one freezer draw and cracked the front of it. The light within is quite dim and it appears that if the bulb needs replacing all the shelves will have to be removed. I think I might leave home if that day arrives. We are seriously thinking of having to purchase a second small freezer. Hotpoint FF200LP is a model that I would not recommend to anyone
